an Irishman once again?

I promise I didn't go looking for this.....Everyone who knows me knows that I have a certified attraction towards men with accents. My last boyfriend, Kieran, was from Ireland....and one of the loves of my life, Pete, was from there as well via London. I don't know, there is something about the way it sounds...it turns me on in so many ways I can't even begin to explain.

However, there are a few problems with Irishman that I have experienced.

1) They typically drink too much.
2) They are typically illegal citizens.
3) They have almost bi-polar personas--when they are nice, they are really nice. But when they are mad...you can understand how their country has been at civil war for so many years.

This was the case with Kieran. He was great when he was great. Beyond great. He would've (and still probably would) do anything for me. So giving, so kind. But he would get drunk and at times I was afraid. He'd be irrational, break up with me ,storm off and leave me...it was awful.

So we ended.

I don't want to generalize but I'm just not sure I want to go down this road again?

I am also 27 and am from Ireland but have lived in NY for the last three years. I work as a criminal defense attorney for a firm in Manhattan and also live in Manhattan. Before that, I worked for legal aid in long island (Nassau) for two and a half years but had to leave my one true love of criminal defense for the indigent due to visa issues (being an immigrant in this country is sometimes a pain in the arse). I am very laid back and am the second one to laugh at myself, the first one's are my friends, and it happens very often due to my consistently making an arse of myself. I am 5'10' and am athletic, I play and coach a fair bit of soccer and work out when I can.

I like to think I am adventurous (hence the move over here for no particular reason) and I am certainly spotaneous when the occassion calls.

I like going to bars and hanging out with my friends and generally having a good time. I hate pretentiousness and try to be as grounded as I can.
