New nailpolishes named after NYC hoods

Some woman named Carolyn has come up with a line of nailpolishes called Carolyn NYC that have names for various NYC experiences, places, evoked by some of her life experiences.

Sounds similar to Bond No 9. fragrances (LOVE THOSE!) but with kind of unexplainable references. If she wants this to take off, which it could, she's going to have to get out of the boroughs and head to the world.

  • "Staten Italy" is a hot pink frost that the "Italian-American girls wore on their long nails while riding on the ferry to the city to work and play."
  • "Triborough Bridge," a lilac flat beige, was named for "a guy in the Bronx who had a lilac Cadillac. He claimed none of the guys in the Bronx would . . . get across the Triborough Bridge if it weren't for him
  • "Brooklyn Bridge," a lavender mauve, evokes memories of "romantic walks across the wooden promenade;
Is she serious?

Who wants to wear something reminiscent of Bed Stuy or Bay Ridge? Come on, now.

Start with Upper West, West Village or Park Avenue, Carolyn.
