why clueless is a great movie.

Cher: Do you prefer “fashion victim” or “ensembly challenged”?

Cher: Dionne and I were both named after famous singers of the past, who now do infomercials.

Cher: Searching for a boy in high school is as useless as searching for meaning in a Pauly Shore movie.

The proposition of The Last Kiss

This movie, The Last Kiss, is currently on HBO On-Demand. I watched it with my roommate and friend the other night and I must say, I am still thinking about it. I know he is big douche, as Julia Allison has pointed out in real life. And in this movie, he’s kind of a douche too, although I find myself somewhat identifying with his struggle—what is life like with no more surprises? When you’re in a relationship and you know that it is it?

In the movie, Braff points out to his knocked up girlfriend that he doesnt want to marry her until she can name at least 5 people they know who are married and happy. She can’t.

My friends and I didn’t agree on the question the movie poses—if you were with someone and they cheated on you but realized they were wrong, would you be able to forgive them?

Katie Holmes is growing on me.

Katie Holmes had her big premiere last night for "Mad Money." When Katie was asked about Tom's ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, being pregnant she said: "I'm so happy for her. It's wonderful." Hmmmm...I love both of them, I wonder if they really do get along? Isn't Katie worried that Tom will kick her to the curb the same way that he did to Nicole?

Katie on the filming experience: "Having [20-month-old daughter] Suri and Tom [on set] was wonderful. You think you love to do something and then you have the people you love there. It makes it a billion times better and you didn't realize you were missing that before. It's like 'Oh my God, life can be this good.'"

If she really is this happy then I am happy for her. If she isn't, she is doing a damn good job of faking it. I agree with her--doesn't everyone want to get to a point where they can say--wow I had no idea that life could be this good?

Daniel Day Lewis on Charlie Rose

If you have/haven't seen There Will Be Blood this is a must-watch. Daniel Day Lewis and Paul Thomas Anderson discuss the film, the struggle to make it, the balance between religion and power and the environment and faith, and what it is like for Daniel to be in every single frame of the movie.

Simply fascinating.

Agelika is a great theatre.

By the way, Angelika [where I saw the Before Devil movie] is a great theatre. So cute! It is almost like the Alamo Draft House, only not as great because there is no food/alcohol brought to you inside (so great to have waiter service in a theatre!) However, it is a close second and the best that I have discovered thus far in NY.

What can I say.... they have Red Bull!

To my Texan friends--they have one in Houston and another one in Dallas. Get down there!

Before the devil knows your dead.

I saw this movie yesterday with Aleeza and Maria and it is chilling, thrilling, and makes you think. (Score!)

The questions raised in this movie are scary. What are people capable of? Is the leader who commands the evil deed the only one to blame or are the people who follow him and have evil actions themselves in following him just as guilty? It also shows you how quickly one simple act not intended to be destructive can spiral out of control and how perhaps you, even a "good" person, could find yourself doing things that will/could/should destroy your life.

Surprisingly enough, Ethan Hawke and Marisa Tomei are able to hang and provide good support to the outstanding performances of Albert Finney and Seymour Hoffman. I recommend you see this one, it is going to make you think though, a lot…about who you are, and what if given the right situation you might be capable of. Freaky!

i rectangle p.s. i love you.

....is actually a good movie.

Shocking I know?! Who would've known?!

It was filmed in Williamsburg when I lived there (horror!) and I thought it was going to be cheesy beyond belief --I saw them filming it x 100 (last October, November and part of December) and wasn't really impressed with what I saw. Lisa Kudrow is annoying. And I can't seem to shake the whole Boys Don't Cry thing...so many parts of me still think Hillary Swank kind of looks like a tranny but I must say....this movie was awesome, touching, heart warming and all of that jazz...and Swank had a fantastic shoe collection. It isn't Carrie Bradshaw style, but not bad. She might have redeemed herself.

The stealer of the show was Gerard Butler who is my new obsession.

I know what you guys are going to say...I am a sucker. What can I say?! Those accents are so sexy (!)

Mamma Mia (!) The Movie (!!)

Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep & that scary blonde chick from Big Love.

I think this just might be camp-ily awesome.

Who I think will win is in red.

What are yours?

Cate Blanchett - Britney Spears Hybrid

I dont really know what to say about this.

Poor Cate!

Is Variety secretly trying to destroy Cate Blanchett's Oscar chances?

In an illustration for a strange satirical piece that connects films from 2007 with tenuously related tabloid stories, they've disturbingly grafted Blanchett's Elizabeth: The Golden Age head onto Britney Spears' MTV VMAs-era form.

What will the Academy think?

Sex and the City Movie Trailer (!)

I am so happy this day is here! Click here to watch the new official Sex and the City movie trailer. It is awesome!

Or you can now view it here:

atonement.

Ian McEwan is one of my favorite writers.

I am double crossing my fingers that Kiera, James and co. do this book justice.

If you haven't read this book, it is a MUST-READ.
