i want this rug.

This is so beautiful I think. By Joaquim Ruiz Millet, who is writer, filmmaker and gallery director. This Manuscrit Rug (2003) is an expression of all of his passions, and features a romantic poem that he wrote in his native Catalan. Featuring the actual handwriting of the designer, the rug is an enlargement of a page in a novel Ruiz Millet is working on. The designer plays with the dual meaning in this piece. On one hand, the rug is visually engaging and functional, while at the same time, it encourages people to walk on his words; a fragment of a work of fiction about power relationships imbued with highly charged eroticism. How cool is that? I wish I could read Catalan. And I wish I had $3,300 for a rug. I’d be all over this.

Dwell Studio is coming (!!!!) to Target

Kudos to Domino for spilling it. DwellStudio's super chic sheets, pillows, and everything else for the bed is super luxe and hopefully will not turn cheesy when it arrives on Target's little red shelves. Crossing my fingers.

My CB2 item of the day

It really is seeming like everyday I find something from CB2 that I love...Sigh. Today this is it.

The Alchemy Stool. $129 (so reasonable!)

I might snag this, oh where, oh where could I put it?

tables + chairs of changes.

So my roommate/best friend (??) Aleeza is moving out. Sigh.

This will be an entirely new posting.

On a positive note, my lovely friend Yvette is moving in. We are going to refresh our apartment and get new things. First thing on the list: some cute stools and a pub/bar/small enough to fit in the limited space table.

Here are some that I am looking at. Thoughts, invisibles??

From Overstock, I like these (nesting is so cute and NYC friendly) and Yvette found this awesome one, how cool is this (pictured here because I love it)?

She has such good taste. I am so excited to be living with her. I think it will be great to turn over a new leaf (isn't that such an ANNOYING expression!)

For some reason I am also digging these:

Margaret Elman Furniture

Via Daily Candy:

"Time to talk to Margaret Elman, a furniture redresser with a super keen eye for color and shape.

Aquamarine water ripples, bright green grass blades, mottled tree branches, and softly lit dandelion fields are magnified to sensational proportions on pieces like ornately carved bergères, a Prohibition-era chaise lounge, and a 1930s French Country bed frame.

It’s one-of-a-kind functional artwork. And it’s absolutely pricey."

This stuff is TO DIE FOR! I NEED A RAISE!! MAJOR! APPROPRIATE!

This is officially on my wish list: Available at Distant Origin, 153 Mercer Street, between Houston and Prince Streets (212-941-0024); online at chaircouture.com.

Someone, hook up a poor girl :)

daily5 :: dan golden, crazy shit, periods

I am going to peace out of work early today if all goes as planned, so this is coming at you a bit early...yep, again. Invisibles :)

1. Dan golden rugs are the best. Their LA party was amazing. Check it out on Glitterati.
2. I really, really hate having my period. Totally inappropriate to say but it must be said. I want my tubes tied.
3. I think that whenever someone [aka a man] likes me it makes me like them less and when they don't like me, I like them more. It's like a permanent opposite day or perhaps just total immaturity.
4. I'm really worried about Amy Winehouse, I've been thinking about it all day. I don't want her to have a tragic ending a la Elvis.
5. I am thinking about getting breast implants when I get my holiday bonus.

Adrian Grenier shows up to Dan & Ford's rug launch party

So I couldn't make the trip to LA to go to my friends Dan & Ford's rug launch party at this awesome store on La Brea, Eccola (the Eccola owner Kathleen is on the left in this photo). Eccola will be representing/carrying Dan Golden Rugs in LA.

If you haven't checked out their rugs yet, you totally should. They are amazing. I love them to death, especially the Crazy Shit/ New Shit. When I get rich or finally find that sugar daddie my first lump sum of disposable income is headed straight into their pockets.

Anyhow, I am a big fat loser and didn't make the trip to LALA land and what happens?!

One of my top 5 male crushes shows up at the party!

Adrian Grenier. You know him from Entourage. I know him from Drive Me Crazy with Melissa Joan Hart (aka Sabrina the Teenage Witch).

He showed up with Debi Mazar (isn't she great?) who was dressed in a space outfit. Still hunting down paparazzi looking for that photo. If I find it, I will make sure to show it to you.

Either way, I wish I could've been there. I am so jealous!

Congrats to Ford, Dan & Kathleen and to Dan Golden Rugs for a successful LA launch!

Payton Sofa

Why is this appropriate you might ask?

Name. Payton.
Store. Crate and Barrel.
Style: Classic Parisian with a twist.
Price: just under 3k.

Love it.

Appropriate Score: 1552

It would've gotten 1002 but it got plus 500 Extra Appropriate Points for the name. Wouldn't that make a great last name? ;)
