Hawaiian Tropic Zone gets Cabaret + Kim Kardashian

In an interesting turn of events, Hawaiian Tropic Zone, perhaps the most trashy restaurant concept in NYC history, has now been given a cabaret license.

Apparently those are easier to get in Times Square than in Nolita, don't ya think Ivan Kane?

For all of you non NYers, let me give you the back story. Hawaiian Tropic Zone [HTZ for our purposes from here on out] opened in 2006 with reputable chef David Burke having created the menu and designer Nicole Miller in charge of bikinis...I mean uniforms.

Their target market: the Midtown I-Bank crowd, with a particular focus on the disgusting Lehman Brothers who are known by the local ladies to be pigs, totally predictable, and generally yuck. But they love their woman and the company's offices only a few blocks away makes it the perfect place to go to lunch and take clients.

That would be until the big 3 up in this neighborhood: Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, and Smith Barney execs BANNED HTZ from being on any expense report.

Obviously this tanked HTZ's revenue model.

What now? Apparently they are going to slut it up cabaret style starting this weekend with Kim Kardashian and DJ AM. Perfect.

Can't wait to hear how this ends up. Will people schlep to horrific T Square to see HTZ girls dance around in their sarongs? Time will tell.

Geeeeez! A little harsh huh?! So much negative energy from one person. The girl in the picture looks fine. If you don't like it don't go there. It's pretty simple. How it can be labeled the trashiest restaurant in NYC I just don't understand. I'm not saying Hooters is trashy but did you forget about that place? Why don't you look in the mirror and smile. It'll make you feel better :)
